Shipping Your Orders

As a seller you are responsible for shipping items to buyers promptly and safely after payment is received.

Setting Up Shipping Options

Go to Dashboard → Shipping Setup to configure how you charge for shipping:

  • Free Shipping — You cover the cost. Listings show a green "Free Shipping" badge and consistently sell faster.
  • Flat Rate — You set a fixed shipping amount per item.
  • Calculated (UPS) — Connect your UPS account for real-time calculated rates based on weight and destination.

After a Sale — What to Do

  1. Check Dashboard → My Orders for new orders
  2. Pack the item securely (see packaging tips below)
  3. Ship within your stated handling time
  4. Add the tracking number in the order details
  5. Mark the order as Shipped

Packaging Tips

  • Use a box slightly larger than the item with padding around all sides
  • Bubble wrap fragile items — wrap twice for glass, ceramics or electronics
  • Use a rigid box for anything breakable — never a padded envelope
  • Fill empty space with packing peanuts, crumpled paper or air pillows
  • Include a packing slip with the order number inside the box
  • Seal all edges with proper packing tape

Tracking

Always use a shipping service with tracking. This protects you if a buyer claims an item did not arrive. Add the tracking number to the order so buyers can follow their shipment.

Shipping Insurance

Consider purchasing shipping insurance for high-value items. Most carriers offer this at a small additional cost. If an item is lost or damaged in transit, insurance covers your loss.

International Shipping

You can choose whether to ship domestically only or internationally. International shipping opens up more buyers but involves customs declarations, longer delivery times and potential duties. Check your carrier website for international rate calculators and customs requirements.

Handling Time

State your handling time clearly in your listings (e.g. "ships within 1-2 business days"). Buyers appreciate knowing when to expect shipment. Fast handling leads to better feedback.
