Getting Paid as a Seller

Getting Paid on BuySellBid

Unlike other platforms, BuySellBid does not hold your money. Buyers pay directly into your Stripe or PayPal account the moment they check out.

Setting Up Payments

Before you can receive payments you need to connect your payment account. Go to Dashboard → Payment Setup and connect either Stripe, PayPal, or both.

Stripe — Recommended

Stripe is our recommended payment processor. It accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex and most major debit cards.

  • Click Connect Stripe in Payment Setup
  • Create a new Stripe account or connect an existing one
  • Stripe will ask for your legal name, address, date of birth and bank account for payouts
  • This is required by financial regulations — Stripe is fully secure

Stripe Payout Schedule

Once a buyer pays, funds appear in your Stripe balance. Payouts to your bank account are typically sent within 2 business days. New Stripe accounts may have a 7-day initial payout period as part of Stripe fraud protection — this shortens as you build a history.

PayPal

To accept PayPal, enter your PayPal Client ID in Dashboard → Payment Setup. Buyers who prefer PayPal can then choose it at checkout. PayPal funds land in your PayPal balance immediately and can be transferred to your bank or spent with your PayPal card.

Offering Both Methods

We strongly recommend connecting both Stripe and PayPal. Some buyers will not complete a purchase if their preferred payment method is unavailable. Offering both maximises your sales.

Zero Commissions

BuySellBid never takes a percentage of your sales. The only fees are Stripe (2.9% + 30¢) or PayPal standard fees — charged by those processors, not by us. Your flat membership fee covers everything else.

What if a Buyer Disputes a Payment?

Payment disputes (chargebacks) are handled directly through Stripe or PayPal. Provide your order details, tracking information and any communication as evidence. Contact our support team and we will help you through the process.
