Creating Your First Listing
Listing an item on BuySellBid is quick and easy. A great listing gets more views, more watchers and sells faster.
Step 1 — Click Sell
Click the green + Sell button in the top navigation, or go to Dashboard → My Listings → New Listing.
Step 2 — Choose Your Listing Type
Choose between a Fixed Price listing (buy it now) or an Auction (bidding with an end time). Fixed price is best for most sellers starting out.
Step 3 — Write a Great Title
Your title is the most important part. Include brand, model, size, colour and condition. Example: "Apple iPhone 13 Pro 256GB Sierra Blue - Excellent Condition" is far better than "iPhone for sale".
Step 4 — Write a Detailed Description
Be honest and thorough. Include: condition (new/used/refurbished), dimensions, age, any flaws or damage, what is included in the box, and your return policy. Buyers trust sellers who are upfront about everything.
Step 5 — Add Great Photos
Photos make or break a sale. Tips for great listing photos:
- Use natural light or a well-lit room
- Shoot against a plain white or neutral background
- Show all angles — front, back, sides, close-ups
- Photograph any flaws or damage honestly
- Show the item next to something for scale if size matters
- Use the maximum number of photos your plan allows
Step 6 — Set Your Price
Research similar items before pricing. Search BuySellBid and other marketplaces to see what comparable items sell for. Competitive pricing means faster sales.
Step 7 — Configure Shipping
Set a flat shipping rate, use calculated UPS rates, or offer free shipping. Listings with free shipping consistently sell faster and appear more prominently in search results.
Step 8 — Publish
Click Publish Listing and your item goes live immediately. You can also save as a draft to finish later.
