What Happens After You Sell

You Made a Sale — What Now?

Congratulations! Here is exactly what to do after a buyer purchases your item.

Step 1 — You Receive Payment

Payment lands directly in your Stripe or PayPal account. You will also receive an email notification with the order details. Log into Dashboard → My Orders to see the full order.

Step 2 — Review the Order

Check the order details carefully — the item, quantity, buyer shipping address and any special instructions. Contact the buyer through messaging if anything is unclear before shipping.

Step 3 — Pack the Item

Pack the item securely. Use appropriate packaging for the item type — bubble wrap for fragile items, poly bags for clothing, rigid boxes for electronics. Include a packing slip with the order number.

Step 4 — Ship It

Ship within your stated handling time. Use a tracked shipping service — always. Keep your tracking number safe.

Step 5 — Update the Order

In Dashboard → My Orders, find the order and click Mark as Shipped. Enter the tracking number and carrier. The buyer will be notified automatically.

Step 6 — Order Complete

Once the buyer receives and confirms delivery, the order status changes to Delivered. The funds remain in your Stripe or PayPal account throughout — you can withdraw them any time.

What if There is a Problem?

If the buyer reports an issue, respond promptly through the messaging system. Most issues can be resolved with good communication. See our Returns and Disputes article for more detail.

Response Time Matters

Sellers who respond quickly to messages and ship promptly build positive reputations and sell more. Aim to reply to buyer messages within 24 hours.
